Job summary

Regions Financial Corporation in Hoover, Alabama seeks a Cloud Data Engineer to design, optimize, and develop data pipelines and AI/ML models. You will create reusable IaC to build cloud infrastructure, support feature engineering, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions on cross-functional teams.

The role collaborates with software developers, data scientists, and database engineers to ensure scalable data delivery and consistent architecture across projects.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and two (2) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field
• Or Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field
• Or Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field
• Three (3) years of working programming experience in Python, Scala, SQL, and Terraform
• Three (3) years of working experience in cloud-based Big Data Technology such as EMR, AWS Glue, BigQuery, or Snowflake

Responsibilities

• Design, Build, and Maintain the data-based structures and systems in support of Data and Analytics and Data Product use cases
• Assist with building data pipelines to collect and arrange data and manage data storage in Regions’ big data environments
• Build robust, testable programs for moving, transforming, and loading data using cloud-based Big Data tools such as Glue, Step-Functions, Snowflake, Kafka, and Sagemaker
• Build applications that integrate with AI, including knowledge base management and document processing
• Ensure data is prepared, arranged and ready for each defined business use case
• Continuously seek opportunities for growing knowledge and skills as it relates to daily tasks
• Ensure compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identify opportunities for and supports process improvements; apply disciplined change management practices
