Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to design, optimize, and develop data pipelines and AI-enabled features. The role involves building reusable Infrastructure as Code, creating cloud infrastructure, and supporting deployment of AI/ML models in cross-functional teams.

The position emphasizes data delivery architectures and collaboration with software developers, data scientists, and analysts to ensure scalable, compliant data solutions across Regions’ data platforms.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and two (2) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field
• Or Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field
• Or Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field
• Three (3) years of working programming experience in Python, Scala, SQL, and Terraform
• Three (3) years of working experience in cloud-based Big Data Technology such as EMR, AWS Glue, BigQuery, or Snowflake

Responsibilities

• Partners with Regions Technology to design, build, and maintain data structures and systems for Data & Analytics use cases
• Builds data pipelines to collect, arrange, and store data in Regions’ big data environments
• Develops data movement programs using cloud-based tools (Glue, Step-Functions, Snowflake, Kafka, Sagemaker)
• Builds integrations with AI including knowledge base management and document processing
• Ensures data is prepared and ready for defined business use cases
