Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Data Engineer within the Digital Solutions Finance team to design, maintain robust data pipelines and data architectures supporting analytics for Finance stakeholders. You will leverage Databricks and Google Cloud Platform to ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets.

The role requires strong SQL and programming skills (Python/Scala/Java), plus experience with data modeling and ETL/ELT.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience, preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).
• Hands-on experience developing data solutions using Databricks, preferred
• Solid experience working within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, particularly with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects of varying difficulty.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark/Scala/Python) and GCP services (such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow).
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and establish best practices for data engineering within the team.
• Perform performance tuning of key processes to optimize processing times and minimize cloud infrastructure costs.
• Assist in migrating legacy data workflows to modern cloud platforms.
