Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines and architecture for the Digital Solutions Finance team. The role centers on Databricks, Spark, Python, and Google Cloud Platform to ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets for actionable financial insights.

You will work with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality datasets, implement data quality checks, and optimize performance and costs in a cloud

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field
• Strong SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java)
• Hands-on experience with Databricks
• GCP experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks and GCP services
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and establish best practices for data engineering
• Perform performance tuning to optimize processing times and cloud costs
• Assist in migrating legacy data workflows to modern cloud platforms
