Job summary
The Carlyle Group is seeking a Data Engineer for the Credit Data & Applications team in Washington, DC. Focused on building and maintaining data pipelines for the Credit Data Warehouse (CDW) and supporting portfolio analytics, this role emphasizes data engineering over full-stack UI work, collaborating with investment and operations teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and Airflow, plus strong SQL, Python, and Power
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of relevant technical experience
- Experience with Snowflake/Databricks in cloud data warehouses
- Strong SQL and data modeling for analytical datasets
- Hands-on dbt, Airflow, and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with Azure/AWS and BI tools
- Experience with Power BI and semantic models
- Ability to work with offshore teams
Responsibilities
- Build scalable data models in Snowflake/Databricks
- Develop dbt transformation logic and modular models
- Design and maintain Airflow DAGs for pipelines
- Integrate data from external sources via APIs/SFTP
- Collaborate with Credit IQ/Power BI teams for semantic layers
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance
- Lead cross-functional teams and code reviews
