Job summary

The Carlyle Group seeks a Data Architect, Corporate Services to own the CFDW platform, define data models, governance and architectural patterns for a scalable finance data product.

You will lead a high‑performing engineering team, drive migration from legacy SSIS/SSAS to Snowflake-based stack, and partner with Finance stakeholders to deliver trusted, auditable metrics across Sigma or Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of data engineering or data architecture experience.
• 7+ years in financial services (preferred).
• Demonstrated people management or tech lead experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred).
• Hands-on with dbt, ingestion tools (Fivetran, Airflow).
• Experience migrating from legacy SSIS/SSRS/SSAS to a cloud platform.
• Python experience for tooling and integration.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud-native data architectures.
• Experience with APIs and event-driven workflows; governance and quality emphasis.
• Exposure to AI/LLM workflows in production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own CFDW architecture across ingestion, transformation, semantic layer and consumption.
• Design and build Snowflake data platform across landing, integration and presentation layers.
• Build and govern dbt transformation and semantic layer.
• Lead migration of legacy reporting to modern stack; validation of output equivalence.
• Hands-on development while directing the team to deliver the bulk of the build.
• Evaluate and select technologies; bring in new platforms where appropriate.
• Build living data dictionary and end-to-end lineage for audit and SOX.
• Design finance knowledge graph and business context layer.
• Implement AI-driven data quality monitoring to detect anomalies.
• Establish data trust signals and an incident log for data reliability.
• Apply access controls and masking to enforce security.
