Job summary

City of New York is seeking an IT Project Specialist to administer and modernize data center infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud resources. The role focuses on implementing Nutanix, Azure, and IGEL-based VDI solutions while ensuring security, reliability, and scalable performance across NY facilities.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in system engineering, networking, and data center modernization with hands-on experience in virtualization and disaster recovery

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering, HCI, interactive media, data visualization, or related field with four years of satisfactory full-time experience.
• An associate degree with six years of satisfactory full-time experience in related areas.
• A baccalaureate degree with eight years of satisfactory full-time experience in related areas.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above options.

Responsibilities

• Administering and maintaining x86-based servers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security.
• Managing Cisco switches and network devices for efficient data communication.
• Collaborating to plan, implement and support transition to Nutanix Hyper Converged Infrastructure.
