Job summary

Slalom is hiring a Data Architect to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native data platforms enabling advanced analytics, ML, and Generative AI. You will guide architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, and Snowflake.

Hybrid work model with collaboration across Data Architecture & Engineering groups. Strong focus on governance, security, and scalable data solutions for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Strong understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, streaming architectures, and governance concepts.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience leading architecture efforts from discovery through implementation while staying engaged in delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve cloud-native data architectures (data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, real-time platforms).
• Translate business objectives into scalable, secure data solutions.
• Lead architecture and design efforts from discovery to implementation.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver data platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Design AI-ready data foundations supporting analytics, ML, Generative AI, and agentic AI workloads.
• Apply AI-enabled engineering practices to improve quality, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and stakeholder alignment.
• Mentor engineers and architects to grow technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to share best practices and advance delivery.
