JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Data Architect to advance our data architecture across multiple applications as we modernize toward a cloud-based strategy. You will define target state data architectures, set data standards, and guide data lake adoption while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor junior architects, ensure data governance, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion as part of our tech leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in data architecture roles; experience with various data modeling techniques and tools across OLTP and OLAP patterns.
• Deep knowledge of data architecture, best practices, and industry trends for modern data needs.
• Deep knowledge in one or more cloud-based databases such as Postgres or CockroachDB, or data lake platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Proven ability to set standards and write Architecture Decision Records to share the north star vision across multiple teams.
• Broad expertise in data technologies including data processing, data quality concepts, BI tools, unstructured data, and ML.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, data catalogs, data vocabularies, and data classification needs.
• Cloud fundamentals, AWS preferred or other public clouds

Responsibilities

• Drive the Data Architecture principles and framework to strengthen the data environment across the portfolio.
• Own and evolve database standards in collaboration with application architects.
• Drive adoption of the strategic data lake by designing target state architectures to reduce bespoke data duplication.
• Define data processing patterns and standards for data exchange between apps (streaming, API, batch).
• Serve as the go-to SME for data architecture needs across 100+ applications.
• Mentor junior architects and technologists on data practices and storage.
• Champion diversity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
