Job summary

SimSpace is seeking a Cyber Range Engineer to architect, deploy, and maintain cloud-based cyber ranges and training environments. You will design scalable, realistic infrastructure that emulates enterprise environments across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring isolation and efficient resource usage.

You will work with security researchers and training specialists to enable high-fidelity simulations, develop automation, and document architectures and procedures.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of network architecture, routing, firewalls, and isolation in enterprise IT.
• Experience with IaC tools and automation frameworks (Puppet/Ansible a plus).
• Strong practical experience with cloud services and virtualization.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker) and VM deployment.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with monitoring/logging tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain local and cloud-based cyber range architectures.
• Develop automation for rapid deployment, teardown, and reset of ranges (IaC).
• Create emulated cloud services when direct cloud integration isn't feasible.
• Maintain security controls and network isolation to prevent range escape.
• Document range architectures, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Travel to customer/partner locations as needed (≈10%).
