Job summary

Google LLC in Seattle is seeking a Principal Engineer to define the workload-optimized portfolio of Google Compute Engine Specialized Instances for AI/ML and mission-critical applications.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, product, and operations teams to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency across Storage, Networking, and Memory-Optimized workloads, including HPC scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 15 years of software development experience on customer-facing products
• 10 years of experience in cloud compute infrastructure and storage or networking
• 10 years of experience in private/public cloud design considerations and challenges

Responsibilities

• Establish workload-optimized portfolio roadmap by defining GCE instances for AI/ML clusters and mission-critical apps
• Lead design, development, and optimization of GCE instances tailored to workload needs
• Build understanding of enterprise and AI/ML segments to inform requirements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tech leads on the portfolio
