Job summary
Google LLC in Sunnyvale, CA, seeks a Principal Engineer to define and drive a workload-optimized GCE instance portfolio for AI/ML clusters and critical applications. You will lead the design and optimization of storage, networking, and memory-optimized instances, collaborating with hardware teams to ensure peak performance and reliability.
You will mentor tech leads, shape enterprise and AI/ML roadmaps, and contribute to breakthroughs in cloud compute offerings across Google Cloud Platform.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of software development experience on customer-facing products.
- 10 years of experience in cloud design, OS, virtualization, multi-tenancy, fault isolation, large-scale distributed systems, networking, and security.
- 10 years of experience in cloud compute infrastructure and storage or networking.
Responsibilities
- Establish workload-optimized GCE instance portfolio roadmap for AI/ML clusters and mission-critical apps.
- Lead design, development, and optimization of GCE instances for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with internal teams and hardware architects to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tech leads on the specialized GCE portfolio.
