Job summary

Google is seeking a Principal Engineer for Specialized Instances to define workload-optimized GCE portfolios for AI/ML clusters and mission-critical apps. You will collaborate across Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Account Management, Operations, Product Marketing, UX, and UI to broker trade-offs and drive adoption.

You will shape the workload-optimized portfolio, mentor tech leads, and push innovation across storage, memory, and compute to deliver scalable cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of software development experience with customer-facing products.
• 10 years of cloud compute infrastructure and storage or networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish workload-optimized portfolio roadmap for GCE instances.
• Lead design, development and optimization of GCE instances for AI/ML workloads.
• Build SME understanding of enterprise and AI/ML segments for requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tech leads on portfolio.
