Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA seeks an Engineering Manager – Cloud Computing Architecture to lead the Cloud Architecture & Strategy team within CPAD. You will design, migrate, and evolve cloud systems, supervise Cloud Solution Architects, hire and mentor staff, and collaborate with government customers to deliver resilient, cost-efficient cloud solutions.

This role requires a BS in CS, 6+ years in cloud tech, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• At least 6 years of experience working with cloud systems and related technologies.
• Experience leading engineering teams and translating customer needs into viable instructions for engineers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud vendor (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Manage the Cloud Architecture & Strategy Section within CPAD comprised of Cloud Solutions Architects.
• Lead recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and staff development.
• Promote an innovative culture and monitor team morale and well-being.
• Interface with program offices, government customers, and other departments.
• Advise customers on best practices to design and migrate cloud architectures.
• Research cutting-edge cloud technologies and develop prototypes.
• Perform AoAs and ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment.
• Oversee budget, resources, and inter-organizational coordination.
