Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead hybrid cloud design and governance for large-scale enterprise systems. You will drive cloud strategy, create architecture artifacts, and guide secure patterns across engineering, security, and operations teams in a dynamic environment.

The role requires deep AWS/Azure/GCP knowledge, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD experience, with a focus on reliability and performance. This is a 12-month hybrid contract in Chandler, AZ.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale distributed enterprise platforms with emphasis on performance, scale, security, and reliability.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps models using Terraform and related tooling.
• Hands-on experience with on-prem private cloud and major public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of web protocols and Linux/Windows OS; exposure to CSP APIs.
• Experience with container-native tech (Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation and programming languages (Ansible, Java, Python).
• Cloud IAM, network and security design, or cloud-native Kubernetes services.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Architect to provide expert-level guidance on cloud design decisions, standards, and operational practices. This role is responsible for the overall architecture of hybrid cloud platforms and their components. The ideal candidate will maintain a thought leadership role in cloud technology, staying current on the offerings of various cloud service providers and driving discussions in the architecture review board.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain overall product design documentation and architectural oversight for hybrid cloud platforms.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud design decisions, standards, and operational practices.
• Serve as an active member of the Cloud Center of Excellence to define and govern best practices.
• Plan and implement the selection of new cloud services and tools to enable the cloud roadmap.
• Develop platform architecture artifacts and influence architectural decisions within the review board.
• Maintain blueprints and reference implementations of cloud products.
• Partner with Information Security teams to engineer secure application patterns.
• Work with teams on complex applications to provide guidance on cloud platforms, escalating risks as needed.
• Communicate challenges to drive discussions across engineering, operations, developers, and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in delivering large-scale distributed enterprise platforms with a focus on performance, scale, security, and reliability.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps models using technologies such as Terraform.
• Experience with on-premises private cloud and public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Deep knowledge of web protocols, Linux and/or Windows operating systems, and public cloud APIs.
• Experience with native CSP orchestration stacks (e.g., Azure ARM templates, AWS CloudFormation).
• Experience in container-native technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience in cloud-native logging, monitoring, and operations tools like Splunk and Prometheus.
• Experience with container-related technologies and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools and programming languages like Ansible, Java, or Python.
• Expertise in one or more of the following: Cloud IAM, Cloud network and security design, Cloud IaaS design, native cloud services, or cloud-native Kubernetes services.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, or Salt.
• Experience in Agile development practices and test-driven development.
• Demonstrated organizational, leadership, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
