Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. seeks a Cloud Applications Engineer to translate complex business needs into scalable SaaS functionality, maintain backend systems, and support multiple corporate domains including contract management and sustainability.

You will learn the full system ecosystem, ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly, and drive process improvements. This onsite role may allow one remote workday weekly with prior approval; the candidate should align with Honda's initiative

Qualifications

Must have a 4 year college-level Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Technology or a related STEM field of study.
5 years’ experience with general software development methodologies, as well as those specific to SaaS Cloud toolsets and platforms including: Hands-on experience with SaaS configuration of technical and functional settings.
Ability to effectively manage SaaS global attributes, master data, and admin tasks
Experience with coding and configuring of APIs for data extraction and integration
Familiarity with middleware frameworks for connecting systems (SAP, Laserfiche, Salesforce, others)
Understanding procurement, risk management, and compliance workflows
Ability to configure features to enforce compliance and mitigate risks
Experience working in Agile teams, using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
Strong technical and listening skills
Good analytical skills along with communication and interpersonal skills, presentation skills.
Ability to manage time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results, on time, on budget

Responsibilities

Developing complex business requirements into needed business functionality, along with maintaining, and testing backend systems within the department.
This role will gain end to end knowledge of the system ecosystem, helping to support day to day activities, and will focus a few systems in the contract management, sustainability, corporate security and records management areas as needed.
Developing (configuring), maintaining and testing assigned systems, understanding the customers business needs and priorities, and interfaces to support day-to-day operation.
Achieve goals for your area of responsibility: support the business objectives to deliver value by providing quality IT products and services to Honda business.
Planning: execute goals by setting milestones and prioritizing activities.
