D.R. Horton, the nation’s leading homebuilder, is seeking a Closing Supervising Team Lead to oversee the closing department, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant loan file preparation and closure.

You will guide Closing Specialists and Coordinators, acting as the technical expert on closing documentation and collaborating with Processing, Underwriting, Funding, and Post-Closing teams to support timely funding and a superior borrower experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of mortgage closing experience.
• Solid knowledge of loan documentation requirements for FHA, VA, USDA and conventional loans.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proven ability to supervise and coach staff and manage workflow.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the closing team to ensure timely, compliant package completion.
• Review loan files for completeness and adherence to loan requirements.
• Resolve escalated closing issues including funding delays and documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor pipeline, workload distribution, and SLAs to optimize team efficiency.
• Provide training and feedback to closing staff and collaborate with Processing, Underwriting, Funding and Post-Closing teams.
• Prepare regular reports on team performance and closing volume for leadership review.
• Support audits, investor reviews and regulatory examinations as needed.

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Closing Supervisor Team Lead. The right candidate will oversee the daily workflow of the Closing Department, ensuring that all loan files are prepared, reviewed, and closed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations. This position provides leadership and guidance to Closing Specialists and Coordinators, serves as a technical expert on closing documentation, and partners with internal departments to support timely funding and a positive borrower experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the closing team to ensure all closing packages and disbursements are completed on time and in compliance with company and investor standards
• Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional lending requirements
• Serve as the primary resource for resolving escalated closing issues, including funding delays, documentation discrepancies, and compliance exceptions
• Monitor pipeline activity and workload distribution to ensure team efficiency and adherence to service-level agreements
• Conduct quality control reviews on closed loan packages to identify trends or recurring issues; recommend corrective action as needed
• Provide training, coaching, and feedback to closing staff to promote accuracy, consistency, and professional growth
• Collaborate with Processing, Underwriting, Funding, and Post-Closing teams to ensure smooth loan transitions and timely funding
• Assist in implementing new processes, technologies, and compliance updates within the department
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on team performance, closing volume, and error rates for management review
• Support department leadership during internal audits, investor reviews, and regulatory examinations
• Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
• Contribute to departmental process improvement initiatives focused on workflow efficiency and borrower satisfaction
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3-5 years of mortgage closing experience
• Strong knowledge of loan documentation requirements for FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loans
• Strong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essential
• Demonstrates mastery of mortgage closing documentation and compliance requirements
• Ability to clearly convey expectations, feedback, and updates to staff and management
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
• Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
• The noise level is generally moderate
• Ability to travel overnight
