Job summary

Safeway seeks a Third Person in Charge to oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director. The role involves customer service, training new employees, and assisting with merchandising and hiring decisions.

The position supports late-shift operations and coordinates with department leads to ensure smooth daily activities and achievement of store objectives. Prior retail leadership experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four or more years of retail experience.
• Retail grocery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Close shifts to run total store operations when leadership is absent.
• Fill in for ASD/SD on days off or vacations and oversee late shift operations.
• Oversee total store operations, supervisor responsibilities, and customer service in absence of leadership.
• Initiate corrective actions as needed when leadership is absent.
• Coordinate with late shift operations to ensure smooth daily store activities.
• Maintain customer service standards and engage in suggestive selling.
