Job summary

Safeway seeks a Third Person in Charge to manage store operations when the Store Director and ASD are away. You will supervise staff, ensure customer service excellence, and coordinate with late-shift teams to maintain daily performance and merchandising execution.

The role involves training new employees, assisting with hiring decisions, and supporting strategy execution to improve product placement, sales, and standards across the store.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service and supervisory abilities.
• Understanding of overall store operations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Works primarily closing shifts to run total store operations in the absence of the SD and ASD.
• Fills in for ASD and handles center of store operations when ASD is unavailable.
• Oversees total store operations and supervises employees; handles customer complaints in SD/ASD absence.
• Initiates corrective action as needed when leadership is absent.
• Liaises between Store Director/ASD and late shift operations to ensure smooth store operations.
• Focuses on fast, friendly, courteous customer service and engages in suggestive selling.
