Job summary

Agape Montessori School in Kansas invites applications for an organized After-School Closing Manager. You will lead after-school staff, design engaging activities aligned with Montessori principles, and coordinate with the Director and parents during pickup. Ensure daily closing operations and a safe, clean facility.

The role requires strong time management, staff supervision, and clear communication, with opportunities to grow professionally. Full-time hours may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare; leadership/supervision experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Health & Safety training (paid by the school).
• Background check, health assessment, TB test required per state regulations.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking an organized, proactive, and supportive After-School Closing Manager to oversee our afternoon program. In this key leadership role, you will support our after-school staff, design engaging student activities, partner with parents during pickup, and ensure seamless communication with the Director and Assistant Director. You will also oversee end-of-day operations to ensure our facility is clean, compliant with state regulations, and ready for the next school day.

Schedule

The required work schedule for this position is 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who can work additional hours up to a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Leadership & Support: Guide, support, and mentor after-school staff, ensuring strong team performance, efficient classroom management, and a positive work environment.

Activity Planning: Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate after-school activities aligned with Montessori principles and child development best practices.

Bridge Communication: Serve as a reliable liaison between after-school staff, parents during pickup, and the Director/Assistant Director to ensure smooth operational continuity.

Closing Operations & Facility Care: Oversee and execute daily closing procedures, including light cleaning, sanitization, dishes, room reset, and securing the building.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure the program complies with all state childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies at all times.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Healthcare/Management preferred).

Experience: Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and familiarity with Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations.

Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training ( paid for and provided by our school ).

Clearances: Ability to pass a background check, health assessment, TB test, and fulfill state regulations.
