Job summary

Montessori School in Kansas is seeking an organized After-School Closing Manager to oversee the afternoon program, support staff, and coordinate with parents at pickup. You will ensure daily closing tasks, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance while preparing the site for the next school day.

The role requires strong time management, leadership, and communication skills, with CPR/First Aid and health & safety training provided by the school.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Healthcare/Management preferred).
• Experience: Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Understanding of child development and familiarity with Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations.
• Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training (paid for and provided by our school).
• Clearances: Ability to pass a background check, health assessment, TB test, and fulfill state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Staff Leadership & Support: Guide, support, and mentor after-school staff, ensuring strong team performance, efficient classroom management, and a positive work environment.
• Activity Planning: Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate after-school activities aligned with Montessori principles and child development best practices.
• Bridge Communication: Serve as a reliable liaison between after-school staff, parents during pickup, and the Director/Assistant Director to ensure smooth operational continuity.
• Closing Operations & Facility Care: Oversee and execute daily closing procedures, including light cleaning, sanitization, dishes, room reset, and securing the building.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure the program complies with all state childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies at all times.
