• Ability to initiate productive communication to address student concerns with administration, team members, and parents
• Develop a daily/weekly schedule of instructional and non-instructional activities for each paraeducator that supports students on your caseload always with the intent to build students’ independence
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Planning and Placement Team process and legal and related compliance
• Conduct appropriate evaluations and assist other teams in understanding the special education eligibility process for students with or suspected of having a disability, including the use of state guidelines
• Demonstrate teacher‑leadership qualities to bring initiative and innovation to the special education department in the above areas.

Summary

Will provide specialized instruction to students who are identified with a disability of Autism and multiple disabilities in the special education classroom and general education classroom.

Education/Qualifications

Valid 065 Connecticut Certification

A minimum of field work experience at the college level
