Responsibilities

Implement, model, monitor, and adjust a variety of instructional and social/emotional strategies
Across all settings – restrictive settings, regular classroom settings, and non-instructional settings, in cooperation with general education classroom staff
Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Analysis and writing behavioral support plans, analyzing behavioral data
Ability to initiate productive communication to address student concerns with administration, team members, and parents
Develop a daily/weekly schedule of instructional and non-instructional activities for each paraeducator that supports students on your caseload always with the intent to build students’ independence
Comprehensive knowledge of the Planning and Placement Team process and legal and related compliance
Conduct appropriate evaluations and assist other teams in understanding the special education eligibility process for students with or suspected of having a disability, including the use of state guidelines
Demonstrate teacher‑leadership qualities to bring initiative and innovation to the special education department in the above areas.
