Job summary

CARE of Southeast Michigan is seeking a licensed mental health professional to diagnose and treat mental health disorders, create individualized treatment plans, and conduct regular patient follow-ups. This role involves counseling individuals and groups, developing treatment plans, and assessing progress to adjust plans as needed.

Position is hourly, non-exempt, with 15–18 hours per week scheduled afternoons and evenings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or related field.
• Must possess active status with licensure or certification (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, etc.) and one of the listed requirements.
• Must have a Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals CAADC certification or a registered development plan with timely implementation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for substance use disorders per agency policy.
• Provide individual and group counseling for psychological or emotional issues such as stress or family situations.
• Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans with a person-centered/family-centered philosophy.

Job Summary

Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders. Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.

Description of responsibilities:

• Conducts screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for substance use disorders for those individuals seeking outpatient counseling services and co-occurring behavioral health issues according to best practices and agency policy and procedures including the identification of a diagnosis.
• Conducts counseling for individuals and groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as stress, substance use, or family situations.
• Develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans that are developed with a Person-centered/Family-centered philosophy.

Required skills / education:

• A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or other related and applicable degree.
• Must possess active status, with licensure or certification in accordance to the professional field required by that governing body (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, etc.) and one of the following:
  • Certified by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (specifically Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or
  • Must have a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation.
