Job summary

New River Valley Community Services is seeking a Clinician to provide clinical assessment, treatment planning and consultation services for individuals with mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use and/or developmental disabilities.

The clinician works on site at the General District Court to assist the Court by providing assessment at or prior to arraignment and treatment recommendations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or other licensed-eligible human services field is required.
• State of Virginia License in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy is preferred.
• License eligibility is required if not fully licensed and registration with the appropriate Board is required within three months of hire.
• At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
• Experience working with court or criminal justice programs preferred.

Salary Range

$50,400.00- $57,960.00

Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.
