Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

We are looking for a Clinician who brings passion for helping others and works with a dynamic team to support students. This role is located at the Susan Wayne Center of Excellence (SWCE), a 38‑acre facility in Thompson, CT, serving 33 adolescents with developmental disabilities aged 10‑21. You will work in a staff secure environment, providing intensive education and living experiences while cultivating excellence.

In this position, you will convey your passion for helping others with an energetic and positive approach while working with our students.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 per year. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of five to eight residents.
  • Develop interdisciplinary treatment plans as a vital member of the residents' treatment team.
  • Manage all case documentation and uphold professionalism.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies as necessary.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Clinical licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC) preferred; ability to sit for licensure required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in individual, group, and family therapy and assessment with adolescents; experience in residential or mental health in‑patient programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development required.
  • Experience or training with populations impacted by traumatic stress, mental and behavioral health challenges, and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience in case management, systems of care, and record keeping preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Acceptable driving record check and background checks (Nationwide Alpha, CT State, DCF) required.
  • Ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment.
  • Pass a pre‑employment physical examination.
  • Certifications in BCC and American Red Cross CPR/First Aid required.
  • Valid driver's license.
