Management/Supervision Full Time, Day Shift, 8-5pm
The Clinical Coordinator (CC) will report to the Practice Physician and/or the Practice Administrator. Under the direction of the Practice Physician, the Clinical Coordinator (CC) will provide superior patient care and perform both clinical and administrative tasks. Additionally, one of their functions will be to supervise and manage the clinical staff.
· Supervise all Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) within the Physician Practices.
· Prepare the weekly office schedule and, when necessary, schedule full-time, part-time, or floater staff to rotate between different practices to ensure coverage.
· Manage all CMA performance reviews and provide feedback to staff and administration using performance management techniques.
· Coach, mentor, and influence technical leadership, as well as foster teamwork within the Physician Practices to promote collaboration and professional development.
· Enter, maintain, and report all medical history, medical coding, and filing claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
· Greet patients, prepare examination rooms, and assist with patient intake, including:
· Assist the Practice Physician during examinations and explain medical procedures to patients as needed, including medication instructions and dietary advice under physician supervision.
· Responsible for sterilization and preparation of medical instruments, ensuring patient exam rooms are disinfected, organized, and ready for use.
· Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and instruments, and ensure all equipment is properly stocked and maintained, including documentation and order review.
· Handle referrals, insurance authorizations, and coordinate patient information for prescriptions, x-rays, or lab requisitions, including communication with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
· Draw injections and administer vaccines, medications, and intradermal injections.
· Monitor refrigerator temperatures for vaccines and other refrigerated medications.
· Perform other office and clinical responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or Physician.
