Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning for program needs and department needs assessments for preschool and birth to 3 programs.
- Orient and mentor therapists /clinicians, particularly early career professionals in developing clinical skills, judgement, learning and applying effective parent coaching strategies.
- Coordinate CFY and graduate intern supervision
- Maintain a small caseload.
- Oversee clinical scheduling and caseload assignments in collaboration with the EI and preschool Coordinators
- Ensure that therapists know and implement best practices for monitoring auditory, speech, and language developmental milestones for students, as well as counseling, education and training for parents, family and/or caregivers for in person and virtual service provision.
- Assist in developing or improving procedures related to onboarding new families, communication with outside therapists or audiologists, and practices to support enrolled families in collaboration with EI and preschool coordinators.
- Perform clinical review of session notes, progress reports, and evaluations as well as other internal documentation for services provided at Clarke NY.
- Oversee use of Easytrac,, ensure compliance with Medicaid in Education/School Supportive Health Program, IEPs and provision of service mandates, continuity of learning plans, and compliance with regulations and contractual requirements for services
- Assist with audit preparation related to Clarke NY Programs
- Provide ongoing support for staff by conducting observations and meetings with staff to assist them in the development of their general clinical skills and use of LSL strategies.
Other Duties:
- Lead evaluation protocol development, training, and implementation
- LSL mentor and training coordinator
- Coordinate parent workshops on related topics
- Coordinate and participate in 1:1 meeting with therapists, EI team meetings, speech case conferences, case reviews and parent meetings
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the program director
Requirements
Education, licenses, certifications, skills and experience
Required:
- New York State licensed SLP and certified TSLD
- ASHA certificate of clinical competence (ccc-SLP)
- Supervision and mentoring experience
- Experience with NYSED regulations, CPSE processes, EasyTrac and School Supportive Health Programs
- Experience with NYS and NYC Early Intervention Program, services, and regulations
- Experience with parent coaching best practices
- Experience with birth-5-year-old child development
- Experience providing listening and spoken language services to children who are deaf/hard of hearing and their families
Preferred:
- Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) certification
- Knowledge of the CPSE, turning 3 and turning 5 processes
