Stamford Health Medical Group in Stamford, CT seeks a Department Manager to oversee Oncology and non-Oncology clinical trials. Under the Director of the Office of Research, you will manage staff, review protocols, budgets, CDA processes, and ensure compliance with institutional procedures.

The role emphasizes financial oversight, trial opportunities, and collaboration with SH legal, CROs and sponsors, with milestones and billing accountability across studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least five years of prior relevant experience in an equivalent healthcare setting involving clinical trials.
• Exceptional computer literacy with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the department as they relate to management of Oncology and non-Oncology Clinical Trials.
• Manage staff including clinical trials coordinators, data specialists, finance analysts, regulatory coordinators and research assistants.
• Seek trial opportunities and review protocols for physician consideration; review CDA and manage CDA process.
• Review contracts, consent, budgets, amendments, and other modifications for appropriateness.
• Act as liaison between SH legal, clinical trials program and CRO/Sponsor to ensure document consistency and compliance.
• Negotiate budgets and related scope of work; handle incidental not covered under contract.
• Establish study milestones for data collection and ensure billing compliance with government and institutional guidelines.
• Train staff to report billing activity and monitor compliance; coordinate with billing to prevent errors.
