Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Clinical Trial Financial Specialist to support financial management of clinical research studies within the OCCT.

You will manage payments, budgets, contracts, data, and reporting across systems, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely study startups. The role emphasizes collaboration with Research Operations and Finance teams to improve processes and provide reliable financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or three+ years of relevant experience.
• 1–2 years in clinical research, regulatory compliance, budgeting/contract management preferred.
• Ability to interpret CTA cost language and study protocol information.
• Strong understanding of research billing compliance.
• Healthcare finance experience (billing, reconciliations) preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and handling healthcare data.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Clinical Trial payments inbox, track receipts, reconcile, and apply payments.
• Support financial operations across multiple systems and data entry tasks.
• Prepare and report financial, study, and enrollment metrics for oversight.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance of research and financial data.
• Support funding proposals, awards, and study records in systems like Huron/RASCAL.
• Monitor inquiries regarding budgets, contracts, and finances.
• Maintain documentation for budgets, contracts, SOPs, and records.
• Collaborate with researchers and operations to startup studies and ensure financial setup.
