Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Clinical Training Specialist to assess educational needs across nursing and clinical staff, and to develop comprehensive training programs. You will create materials, coordinate onboarding, and deliver classroom and hands-on instruction, using Epic EHR and LMS tools.

The role emphasizes leadership in staff development, program evaluation, and collaboration with Clinical and Quality teams to improve patient safety and population health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted LPN license is required.
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in MA strongly preferred.
  • 5–7 years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory, leadership, or staff development experience preferred.
  • Epic or other EHR experience highly preferred.

Job description

  • Assess educational needs of Medical Assistants, Clinical Support Aides, Nurses, Nursing Students, and MA Externs
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate standardized clinical training programs
  • Create and maintain educational materials, competency tools, skills checklists, training manuals, and learning resources
  • Provide classroom, virtual, and hands-on clinical instruction
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for newly hired clinical staff
  • Develop individualized learning plans and remediation programs
  • Support competency validation and annual skills assessments
  • Coordinate clinical experiences and onboarding for nursing students and Medical Assistant externs
  • Mentor students and externs during clinical placements
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and evaluate student and extern performance
  • Partner with Quality and Population Health teams on educational interventions and quality improvement initiatives
  • Develop and deliver training related to preventive care, chronic disease management, care gap closure, patient safety, and population health
  • Use quality and performance data to identify trends, knowledge gaps, and staff development opportunities
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and interdisciplinary committees
  • Assist clinical leaders in standardizing workflows and implementing evidence-based guidelines and care standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for clinical procedures, infection prevention, patient safety, and scope-of-practice questions
  • Conduct clinical observations and rounding activities
  • Collaborate with Nursing, Population Health, and Quality leadership
  • Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and workgroups
  • Assist with clinical policy, procedure, and care guideline development and implementation
  • Maintain training, competency, certification, and continuing education documentation
  • Support regulatory surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews
  • Maintain a centralized repository of educational resources and training records
  • Track training effectiveness, competency completion, onboarding success, and staff development KPIs
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Manage multiple projects and educational initiatives within established timelines
Requirements
  • An active, unrestricted LPN license is required; an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is strongly preferred
  • 5–7 years of clinical nursing experience required
  • 1–2 years of supervisory, leadership, or staff development experience preferred
  • Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present and facilitate training sessions for groups of 25 or more participants
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
