The Clinical Therapist II treats patients using various modalities as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Provides psychological/social interventions supporting patients and families regarding behavioral health, levels of care, hospitalization, disease, wellness, and recovery.

  • Experience treating patients with substance use disorders is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develops and reviews treatment plans based on findings and department policies.
  • Delivers behavioral health treatment and education, including assessments and therapy (individual and/or group), sharing information with staff, families, and approved agencies.
  • Completes all documentation and reports timely, adhering to department and hospital policies.
  • Provides services in accordance with licensure regulations.
  • Uses patient information and developmental knowledge to develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provides case management and assesses Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), offering education and referrals as needed.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and support persons to develop discharge plans that meet ongoing care needs.
  • Reassesses and revises treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected health information per legal and organizational standards.
  • Assists team members in emergency responses.
  • Knows community resources and refers patients appropriately.
  • Supervises students completing field placements and assists with staff orientation.
  • Modifies care to meet patient-specific needs (age, culture, language, impairments).
  • Physical requirements include lifting and standing for certain periods.
  • Follows organizational competencies and supervision requirements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
  • At least two years post-licensure experience.
  • Ability to perform assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, disease management, and differential diagnoses.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
Preferred
  • Guidance/mentorship abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed Professional Counselor, NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
