Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Clinical Technician to support the CSICU with basic patient care during night shifts. You will assist RN staff, monitor patients, and help with personal care, transfers, and routine tasks to ensure safety and comfort.

Hillcrest Hospital's Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is part of a comprehensive cardiothoracic and vascular program that cares for pre- and post-operative open heart, thoracic and vascular surgery patients, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization patients with associated interventions, such as percutaneous cardiac angioplasty and stent placement, ablations and pacemaker/internal cardiac defibrillator insertions, and general med/surg ICU/CCU overflow patients.
As a Clinical Technician, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. A caregiver in this position works from nights from 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period *Nursing students must obtain prior to hire
• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)
• Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
• Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $25.95
