Job summary

Inova Ashburn Healthplex & Inova Cornwall Healthplex is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician to support the Emergency Department at both locations. This full-time night-shift role runs 7pm-7am with three 12-hour shifts weekly, and includes a paid 6-week training period.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• BLS certification due within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in required clinical skills and technologies per policy.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
• Demonstrates growth and development knowledge for patient population.
• Completes documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the RN promptly.
• Partners with RN to create a professional development plan.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g. bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
• Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
• Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift

Full Time, 7pm-7am

Schedule

Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation)

Training

Candidate must be able to attend a 6-week training period, including virtual training sessions, off-site classroom training days (8:00am-4:30pm), and orientation shifts on-unit at the hospital.

Clinical Technician Minimum Requirements

• Experience: Healthcare experience preferred.
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association).
• Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training
