Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Clinical Technician at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role supports emergency department operations with phlebotomy, EKG, and minor procedures under supervision.

Hours are 32 per week on night shift with weekend and holiday rotation. A $1,200 new hire sign-on bonus is available for this position. Southcoast Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
• One year of related work experience is required.
• CPR certification required.
• Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic certification required.
• In lieu of certification, must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing or 1+ years of Emergency Department Technician experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and diagnostic procedures under physicians orders.
• Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including quick patient registration, data/order entry, minor transcription of orders, and collation of medical records.

Shift: Night shift, 11:15pm - 7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation

Under general supervision of Emergency Department Manager or Designee, perform variety of duties in providing direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and diagnostic procedures in accordance with physicians orders. Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including but not limited to patient quick registration, data/order entry, minor transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned.
