Job summary

Southcoast Health seeks an Advanced Clinical Tech II to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. Per diem schedule with day/evening shifts (11:00am–11:00pm) and weekend/holiday rotation.

Requires paramedic license, BLS, ACLS, and 2+ years of paramedic experience. PALS/MOAB within one year. Vaccination or valid exemption may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized courses and training.
• Minimum 2 years of working paramedic experience.
• Current Paramedic License, BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS and MOAB certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nursing supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, and minor invasive procedures.
• Start upper-extremity peripheral IVs as directed by nursing.
• Conduct patient interviews and support clerical duties (registration, data entry, orders).
• Assist with medical records and other clerical tasks as assigned.

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 11:00am - 11:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Under direct nursing supervision of Emergency Department Manager or Designee, perform variety of duties in providing direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and in accordance with physicians* orders. Provides certain ACLS level skills through identification, escalation and notification of clinical staff for lethal cardiac monitor rhythm alarms Under the direction of nursing may start upper extremity peripheral IVs. Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including but not limited to patient quick registration, data/order entry, minor transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
• Minimum 2 years of working paramedic experience
• Current Paramedic License, BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS and MOAB certification required within one year of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
