Job summary

Southcoast Health seeks an Advanced Clinical Tech II at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This per diem role covers day/evening shifts with weekend/holiday rotation.

Provides direct patient care under nursing supervision, including phlebotomy, EKG, and minor invasive procedures. The candidate will maintain patient records, perform clerical duties, and assist with peripheral IV starts and monitoring; requires Paramedic licensure, BLS, ACLS, and within one year PALS/MOAB.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
• Minimum 2 years of working paramedic experience.
• Paramedic license, BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS and MOAB certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nursing supervision including phlebotomy and EKG.
• Perform minor invasive procedures and start upper extremity IVs under direction.
• Conduct patient interviews, registration and data entry; assist with medical records and clerical duties.

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 11:00am - 11:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Under direct nursing supervision of Emergency Department Manager or Designee, perform variety of duties in providing direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, minor invasive procedures and in accordance with physicians* orders. Provides certain ACLS level skills through identification, escalation and notification of clinical staff for lethal cardiac monitor rhythm alarms Under the direction of nursing may start upper extremity peripheral IVs. Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including but not limited to patient quick registration, data/order entry, minor transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
• Minimum 2 years of working paramedic experience
• Current Paramedic License, BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS and MOAB certification required within one year of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
