Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant or in-training candidate to provide daily patient care under supervision. The role includes assisting with ADLs, collecting vitals, and performing basic non-sterile treatments and phlebotomy when needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CNA or active nursing program enrollment, and at least 1 year of patient care experience, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to PFCC.

Qualifications

• 1 year patient care experience preferred, including EKG/Phlebotomy/Nurse Aide roles.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily patient care activities including activities of daily living and comfort measures.

• Performs specimen collection and procedures, including phlebotomy as assigned.

• Attends mandatory inservices and participates in ongoing education.
• Is flexible with time as unit needs change.

Under the direct supervision of the RN or Patient Care Manager, performs duties of daily patient care which include bath and assistance with activities of daily living, data collection on weight, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure measurements. Performs non-sterile treatments, phlebotomy (depending upon area of assignment) and EKG's. Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a CNA or complete certification prior to completion of orientation or has completed one clinical nursing school rotation and currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Experience

One (1) year patient care experience (EKG, Phlebotomy, Nurse Aide, Nurse Technician) preferred.
