Job summary

YNHHS is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support daily patient care activities, assist with activities of daily living, and collect basic vitals in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will work under the Patient Care Manager, participate in mandatory in-services, and contribute to a respectful, patient-centered environment while maintaining flexibility to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification required or must complete certification before orientation.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program or have completed rotation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily patient care activities including activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Collect data: weights, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Perform non-sterile treatments: cold compresses.
• Perform phlebotomy as assigned.
• Demonstrate respectful interpersonal communication with patients.
• Attend mandatory in-services and stay flexible with unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily patient care activities including activities of daily living and comfort measures.
  • Perform complete or partial bath.
• Collect data: obtain weights, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure measurements, including orthostatic parameters as appropriate.
• Perform non-sterile treatments: apply cold compresses.
• Perform specimen collection/procedures: perform phlebotomy (depending upon area of assignment).
• Use effective interpersonal skills in all interactions, demonstrating respect for the other person.
• Maintain active involvement in all educational activities related to the role, attending all mandatory in-services.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Patient Care Manager, remaining flexible with time as assignment changes to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a CNA or complete certification prior to completion of orientation or have completed one clinical nursing school rotation and currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Experience

One year patient care experience (EKG, phlebotomy, nurse aide, nurse technician) preferred.
