Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Clinical Systems Platform Architect to own administration, upkeep, security, and lifecycle of clinical systems (LIS/LIMS/IMS). You will manage upgrades, access control, environment coordination, vendor engagement, and ensure audit readiness in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities include managing DEV/TEST/PROD, monitoring health, coordinating downtime, and supporting validation teams to meet CAP/CLIA/GxP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• 5 years of experience configuring and administering a clinical system (LIS/LIMS/IMS) including upgrades, access management, and system operations.
• Experience in regulated healthcare or laboratory environments.
• Experience coordinating upgrades with validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer assigned clinical systems, including user access, roles, security groups, and permissions.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, patches, and vendor releases following approved change and validation processes.
• Own environment management (DEV/TEST/PROD), refreshes, and configuration consistency.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability, responding to Tier 3 platform issues and supporting root-cause analysis for systemic incidents.
• Coordinate downtime activities, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery testing.
• Ensure audit readiness by maintaining system documentation, access reviews, and evidence required for CAP/CLIA/GxP inspections.
• Serve as the technical point of contact with vendors for platform‑level issues.
• Support application teams by providing stable, secure platforms and enforcing administrative standards.
• Adhere to change control, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
