Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the PACU and PreOp Care unit at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. You will assist the professional caregiver in patient care, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient rooms as part of a broad clerical and clinical support role.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, NC Nursing Assistant I licensure, and BLS certification. It is an onsite, full-time position with a 40-hour week and a varied schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy.
• Listed as Nursing Assistant I by NC DHHS; BLS certification.
• Must be fluent in English; capable of developing computer skills if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation and report significant changes to nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks such as organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing and revising orders, answering calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
