Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC. This full-time, 36-hour-per-week position supports licensed clinicians by assisting with patient care, transporting supplies, and maintaining patient rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I certification required by NC DHHS; BLS certification required.
• No prior experience required.
• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with examinations and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: cleaning work areas, stocking supplies, transporting patients and specimens.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care: bathe, dress, feed, assist ambulation, and record vitals.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute educational materials.
