Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is hiring a Clinical Support Specialist in Yakima, WA. The position offers full-time, non-exempt status with relocation not offered.

You will maintain reports for the PCHH team, perform audits, assist with ROI and release of information, and support OB/PA/NP chart reviews. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are compensated and travel to multiple sites is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or Certificate preferred.
• One year of office experience, preferably medical/dental.
• Two years in medical/dental office preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required for bilingual differential pay.
• Ability to prioritize tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Proficient with EMR, Word, Excel.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates reports and registries for the PCHH team, including outreach, scheduling and documentation; ensures compliance with workflows.
• Audits for invasive procedures and in-house labs; tracks audits and provides documentation.
• Identifies and communicates process improvement ideas to appropriate staff.
• Manages release of information forms; handles subpoenas and court orders to HIM.
• Sorts and distributes mail and faxes to relevant departments.
• Supports OB by running reports, maintaining OB log, and providing consent forms and records.
• Provides chart review support to PAs and NPs and maintains a chart review log.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Maintains and updates reports and registries for the PCHH team. Responsible for all registry work to include outreach activities, scheduling and documentation. Reviews registry data and ensures proper compliance with established workflows and procedures
• Completes audits for invasive procedures and in-house labs. Audits other PCHH data and initiatives. Tracks all audits, providing documentation of audits as requested
• Identifies and collects process improvement ideas and communicates them to the appropriate staff
• Works with patients and staff to ensure completion of Release of Information (ROI) forms. Sends subpoenas and court orders to the Health Information Management (HIM) department for processing
• Sorts and distributes mail and faxes to the appropriate department or recipient
• Provides Obstetrics (OB) support as needed to include running reports, maintaining the OB log, and providing consent forms and records to the hospital
• Provides chart review support to Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) as needed. This includes forwarding the chart reviews to physicians and maintaining a chart review log
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Associates Degree or Certificate from an accredited technical school preferred
• One year's experience working in an office setting, preferably a medical or dental office
• Two years’ experience working in a medical or dental office preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential pay
• Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
• Ability to effectively interact with patients, providers and staff in a professional manner
• Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Electronic Medical Records, Word and Excel
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology desired
• This position requires travel to provide coverage at various sites
• Duties may require work during the evenings, weekends and holidays
