Galen Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to collaborate with providers in Mountain View Internal Medicine (Chattanooga). You will verify patient data, measure vitals, and prepare patients for exams while supporting minor procedures and testing per protocol.

The role emphasizes accurate EMR data entry, strong customer service, and teamwork. A CMA credential and BLS certification are required, with preference for prior clinical/phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a CMA from a nationally accredited program.
• One year of relevant CMA experience preferred if program is not completed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA standards is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with providers to determine patient needs and deliver quality care.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing and recording medical history.
• Prepares patients for examination and records vitals and history.
• Assists with minor procedures and coordinates tests or referrals.
• Manages lab tests, phlebotomy, and EMR data entry accurately.
• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and ensures patient education as needed.

We are seeking qualified, like-minded Certified Medical Assistants to join our team!Summary/Objective:Collaborates with the provider to determine the needs of the patient and assists the provider with providing quality medical care to the patients.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.Collects data accurately and ensures that all information is entered into the patient’s medical record in EHR.Prepares and stocks examination and treatment rooms.Clean and sterilizes instruments.Assists provider with minor office procedures.Schedules Outpatient testing, Procedures or Surgeries.Manages Referral processHospital AdmissionsTesting and ProceduresPre-certificationTriage patient phone calls per site’s protocol.Process Prescription Refill requests per Physician’s protocol.Performs Ancillary testing: EKG, Spirometry, Cryotherapy, etc.Laboratory testing may include Rapid Tests, Urinalysis, Bilirubin, Auto CBC, and Phlebotomy.Reviews lab and test results.
