Job summary

Winchester Hospital in the northwest suburban Boston area is seeking a part-time Clinical Associate to support daily patient care under the direction of a nurse. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, repositioning and transporting patients, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing point-of-care testing.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and English proficiency; CATP training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• BLS – Basic Life Support certification required; CNA, Nursing Student with completion of one medical-surgical rotation, or CATP training acceptable.
• Three months of clinical care experience preferred.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English; basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with activities of daily living
• Repositioning and ambulating patients
• Making an occupied and unoccupied bed
• Assisting in transporting patients, beds, supplies and equipment
• Collecting, labeling and transporting specimens
• Retrieving and signing out blood products
• Accurately performs point of care testing
• Obtains vital signs and weights
• Maintains accurate intake and output measurements
• Removes Foley catheters and saline locks
