This role focuses on assisting with resident health monitoring, basic clinical tasks, clinic flow, and accurate documentation. This role supports implementation of health and wellness practices specific to individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and reinforces established clinical and behavioral supports.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supports daily clinic operations and assists with resident flow through the clinicAssists with tracking and responding to clinic-related requests under the direction of the Registered NurseAssists in triaging residents to nursing staff based on observed needsProvides hands-on support to residents during clinic visits, exams, and proceduresCollects and documents vitals, weights, and other health monitoring data as directedPerforms basic clinical tasks within scope, including:Wound care supportNail careBasic screenings (e.g., skin, ears)Observes and reports changes in resident condition, including changes in baseline functioning and PWS-related concernsSupports Collection, preparation, and coordination of laboratory specimens.Accurately documents care provided and observations in required systemsReports findings, concerns, and changes in condition directly to the Registered NurseCommunicates completion of assigned tasks and any barriers encounteredAssists in preparation for clinical visits with internal and contracted providers, including gathering relevant documentationCompletes assigned compliance tasksAssists with onboarding training support for new and existing PWS employeesConducts self in a positive, respectful, and collaborative mannerCommunicates effectively with internal and external stakeholdersMaintains confidentiality and professional standardsAdditional InformationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:·High School Diploma or equivalent required·Certification as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or MA (Medical Assistant) preferred.One-year previous experience working in a clinic preferred.Medication Administration, CPR, and First Aid certification required. Previous experience administering medications preferred.·Previous experience medically supporting/advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.·Experience providing community supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities required.·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy required.·Prior experience using Word and Excel required.WORKING CONDITIONS –Mental and Physical RequirementsAbility and willingness to implement approved de-escalation and intervention techniques as inserviced by company.Requires mental and emotional ability to remain calm, polite, and function effectively during stressful/emergency situations, and with clients who may be disruptive, demanding, cognitively challenged or exhibit behavioral outbursts.Bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, walking, standing, running, squatting, and bilateral manual dexterity to perform interventions and other essential job functions.Requires the ability to accompany and supervise students to medical appointments.Ability to sit for periods of up to two hours.Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally.Ability to supervise and communicate to clients using sight, hearing, and speech.Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.Ability to multitask and flexibility for changes in priorities.Ability to remain awake and alert during entire shift.Working/Environmental Conditions:Fast pace changing work environment.May involve multi-step tasks and simultaneous projects.May be noisy.Some work areas are not air-conditioned, and some duties require exposure to outside weather conditions.Client behavior can be offensive or intrusive.Risk of exposure to blood or other body fluids and may require the occasional use of gloves or CPR micro shields as necessary.No reasonably anticipated exposure to hazardous equipment, assorted chemicals, gases, vapors, or other pollutants.Position requires the use of typical office machines, audio-visual equipment and some medical and personal protective equipment.MyPath and its Operating Companies provide specialized services and dignified care for children, adolescents and adults with special needs.
