Job summary

BRC Homeless Outreach supervises daily operations of the subway outreach case management team, overseeing engagement, assessment, placement and follow-up for chronically homeless individuals.

Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date charts with psychiatric evaluations, housing plans, and required reports, and evaluating removal cases under the Mental Hygiene Law. Bilingual skills and CPR readiness are valued, with LMSW licensing preferred.

Qualifications

• MSW required. LMSW and 9.58 removal designation preferred. Contingent on obtaining LMSW license.
• Experience with homeless populations, including street/subway homeless and MICA population, strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred. Must have valid driver’s license.
• bilingual capability preferred (Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Korean or other language).
• CPR training certification or willingness to take CPR.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the subway outreach case management team (ILSs team).
• Oversee engagement, assessment, placement and follow-up with clients.
• Ensure client charts include psychiatric evaluations, narrative psychosocials, housing plans and applications.
• Evaluate clients for possible removal under Mental Hygiene Law section 9.58.
• Participate in clinical management meetings and case conferences; present or discuss clients.
• Complete monthly and other reports as needed; provide CPR/First Aid or overdose protocol.
• Related duties as assigned.
