Overview

CSO is looking for a Clinical Supervisor for our shelter, Friends of the Homeless.

This position will support and oversee case management services to shelter clients through a collaborative process that assesses, plans and coordinates the options and services that will meet an individual's needs and support their success in obtaining and/or maintaining housing. This position also assigns caseloads, manages Housing Navigation staff & Community Support Providers that work with Friends of the Homeless (FOH) shelter guests to develop housing plans and assist in their housing search. May also provide direct care services, when required.

Starting salary: $64,000-$73,000/year

Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, and provide ongoing clinical and administrative supervision of Community Support Providers/Housing Navigation staff for FOH North shelter/housing programs
  • Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment & clinical intakes for shelter guests as well as therapeutic supports for individuals in need, as appropriate
  • Provide counseling and intensive support during psychiatric crisis & as a bridge to services
  • Ensure & Coordinate timeliness of initial & ongoing case management assignments, assessment, and credible checklists and documentation to determine eligibility and needs for services, supports and housing
  • Complete Required screening for grant eligibility and enrollments as appropriate
  • Facilitate development and implementation of risk management/safety planning in collaboration with Program director and case management teams & provide clinical consultation and guidance to team members for complex presentations requiring advanced clinical management skills
  • Supervise the process for client housing plans and action steps, from obtaining needed documents and benefits, to completing housing search
  • Follow standard procedures for third party insurance authorization approvals
  • Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, regular clinical and administrative supervision of staff, in-service meetings and other required meetings
  • Oversee and manage productivity requirements of CSP-HI staff that report to this position. Help to train staff in effective productivity management strategies, and ensure full caseloads to support achievement of required productivity standards
  • Along with Supervisor, drive program development and goal setting with a focus toward achieving positive housing outcomes that will lead to reducing the length of stay
  • Support the Resource Manager in planning of workshops & life skills programming, and other activities provided in the FOH Resource Centers that pertain to client goals, such as budgeting, job search, employment search, how to be a good tenant, anger management, housemate pairing and other shared housing tools, and completing housing search
  • Support some day to day operations/coverage of the shelter site
  • Train staff and oversee a process for completing CoC vulnerability assessments, as well as chronic verification and disabling condition verification, as needed with clients and ensure necessary HMIS documentation as required. Adhere to agency timeframes for documentation
  • Participate in and prepare for all relevant meetings pertaining to clients, such as Coordinated Entry case conference meetings (including YYA and Veteran as needed), as it pertains to prioritizing and referring eligible clients for permanent supportive housing
  • Work with Regional Directors to support housing placements in Greenfield PSH units
  • Assist the Program Directors with implementation of behavior contracts and client accountability
  • Complete Outcome Summaries and other documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure referrals and connection to community resources to support guests, including acting as Liaison to Outpatient, psychiatry, supporting internal CSO referrals & collaboration for mental health/addiction treatment, crisis services, and community support/RSN as appropriate
