The Alternative Dispatch Team provides rapid, face-to-face mobile response to individuals calling 911 for behavioral health crises. The Alternative Dispatch Team Clinical Supervisor is a non-exempt, working supervisor who provides in-person and remote clinical consultation and direct field support to Behavioral Health First Responders (BHFRs) before, during, and after crisis responses. This role is highly hands-on and operational. The Clinical Supervisor spends the majority of time delivering direct clinical services, field-based supervision, documentation, and real-time consultative support. While this role provides supervision and guidance to staff, it does not exercise independent executive or administrative discretion as defined under FLSA exemption tests and is therefore classified as non-exempt. The Clinical Supervisor partners closely with the Clinical Director to support day-to-day clinical operations, staff readiness, quality assurance, and adherence to program standards and best practices

What You’ll Do

As a Clinical Supervisor, you will:

Direct Clinical Support (Primary Function)
  • Respond to behavioral health crises in the community as part of the Alternative Dispatch Team.
  • Provide real-time clinical consultation to BHFRs in the field and remotely during crisis responses.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments using validated tools to assess risk, mental health needs, trauma, substance use, and safety concerns.
  • Lead and support crisis interventions using trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Provide follow-up clinical guidance to BHFRs after crisis responses.
  • Document all clinical interactions accurately and in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Staff Supervision and Clinical Oversight
  • Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and coaching to BHFRs during shifts and in the field.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation and notes as required for quality and billing support.
  • Serve as a rendering provider when needed, consistent with licensure and billing requirements.
  • Provide required clinical supervision hours for staff seeking licensure, in accordance with state licensing board standards.
Training and Quality Assurance
  • Provide clinical training and skills development to BHFRs, including crisis intervention techniques and documentation standards.
  • Support implementation of program policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify trends, risks, and training needs observed during field work and elevate to program leadership as appropriate.
Operational Support
  • Coordinate and facilitate services for program participants in collaboration with BHFRs and program leadership.
  • Complete all assigned duties during scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, or extended hours as required.
Other Duties
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.

Qualifications

Required:

Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Active clinical mental health license as required by state or local regulations (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LSW).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with individuals with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, homelessness, or related populations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years providing clinical supervision or lead clinical support to front-line staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts during emergencies.
Additional Requirements
  • CJIS Certification required upon hire.
Physical Requirements (If Applicable)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
