Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and clinical oversight to direct care and counseling staff within PHRI programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered, trauma-informed behavioral health and substance use disorder services. The Clinical Supervisor plays a critical role in program development, staff supervision, training, documentation compliance, and quality assurance. This position supports the agency's mission by fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement in clinical care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed staff, interns, and peer support personnel.
  • Oversee treatment planning, case reviews, and clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid/Medicare, MCO, and accreditation standards.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions and clinical case conferences.
  • Monitor staff performance, support professional development, and complete evaluations.
  • Lead onboarding and training of new clinicians on PHRI’s model of care, documentation standards, and clinical policies.
  • Provide crisis support, de-escalation guidance, and review of critical incidents.
  • Support utilization management processes, level of care determinations, and discharge planning.
  • Assist in implementing evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, audits, and policy development.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Social Work , Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Independent licensure in D.C. required (LICSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Must meet requirements to provide clinical supervision per DC regulations.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience working with substance use disorder and co-occurring populations.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and ASAM criteria.
  • Proficient in EMR systems and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe) and various business software.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
